Description
A quick, 5-minute breakfast smoothie packed with protein and healthy fats to keep you full and focused. Made with simple pantry ingredients like banana, peanut butter, and protein powder.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large ripe banana (about 118g)
- 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter (natural, no added sugar)
- 1 scoop vanilla or chocolate protein powder (30g)
- 1 cup milk (almond, oat, or dairy)
- 1/2 cup ice
- 1 teaspoon chia seeds (optional)
- 1 teaspoon honey (optional, if banana isn’t sweet enough)
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder (optional, for chocolate version)
- 1 handful spinach (optional)
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (optional, for extra creaminess)
Instructions
- Peel the banana and break it into chunks. If using a frozen banana, break it into smaller pieces.
- Pour the milk into the blender first to help the blades spin freely.
- Add the banana chunks, peanut butter, protein powder, and any optional ingredients (chia seeds, spinach, yogurt, ice).
- Secure the lid and start the blender on low speed, gradually increasing to high.
- Blend for 30-60 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy.
- Taste and adjust consistency: add more milk if too thick, or more ice/frozen banana if too thin.
- Pour into a glass or drink directly from the blender cup. Serve immediately.
Notes
For the best texture, use a frozen banana instead of fresh and ice. Start with less milk (3/4 cup) and add more as needed to avoid a watery smoothie. Natural peanut butter works best; stir well if separated. This smoothie is best consumed fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 hours.
