Description
These gooey, caramelized, and crunchy blondies are made with just six simple ingredients. They offer a fudgy texture with crispy edges and are incredibly easy to make.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter
- 2 cups (400g) dark brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 ½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (120g) chopped pecans
- 1 cup (150g) praline bits or chopped butterscotch chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
- Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until completely melted but not browned.
- Immediately add the dark brown sugar to the hot melted butter and stir vigorously until the sugar is mostly dissolved and the mixture is glossy.
- Whisk in the eggs until fully incorporated.
- Stir in the flour and salt just until the flour disappears. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the chopped pecans and praline bits (or butterscotch chips) evenly.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes. The edges should be golden brown and pulling away from the sides, while the center remains slightly soft.
- Cool in the pan for at least 20-30 minutes before lifting out using the parchment overhang and cutting into squares.
Notes
Do not overbake; the center should look slightly underbaked as it will firm up while cooling. For extra nutty flavor, toast pecans in a dry skillet for 3-4 minutes before chopping. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
