Buttery Pecan Praline Blondies

  • Author: Sarah
  • Total Time: 35-40 minutes
  • Yield: 16 servings 1x

Description

These gooey, caramelized, and crunchy blondies are made with just six simple ingredients. They offer a fudgy texture with crispy edges and are incredibly easy to make.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter
  • 2 cups (400g) dark brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 ½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (120g) chopped pecans
  • 1 cup (150g) praline bits or chopped butterscotch chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
  2. Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until completely melted but not browned.
  3. Immediately add the dark brown sugar to the hot melted butter and stir vigorously until the sugar is mostly dissolved and the mixture is glossy.
  4. Whisk in the eggs until fully incorporated.
  5. Stir in the flour and salt just until the flour disappears. Do not overmix.
  6. Fold in the chopped pecans and praline bits (or butterscotch chips) evenly.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes. The edges should be golden brown and pulling away from the sides, while the center remains slightly soft.
  9. Cool in the pan for at least 20-30 minutes before lifting out using the parchment overhang and cutting into squares.

Notes

Do not overbake; the center should look slightly underbaked as it will firm up while cooling. For extra nutty flavor, toast pecans in a dry skillet for 3-4 minutes before chopping. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
