Back-to-School Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Shake for Kids

  • Author: Sarah
  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

A quick, 5-minute chocolate peanut butter protein shake designed to fuel kids and parents during busy back-to-school mornings. It uses frozen bananas for a creamy texture and provides balanced nutrition with protein and healthy fats.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large banana, frozen
  • 1 cup milk (whole, almond, oat, or dairy-free)
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup ice (optional, if banana isn’t frozen enough)
  • 1 handful spinach (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons rolled oats (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep the banana by peeling and breaking it into chunks, then freeze overnight in a freezer-safe bag.
  2. Pour milk into the blender first to help the blades spin freely.
  3. Add frozen banana chunks, peanut butter, protein powder, vanilla extract, and any optional add-ins (spinach, oats, cocoa powder). Add ice last if using.
  4. Blend on low speed, gradually increasing to high. Blend for 30-60 seconds until completely smooth.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness or thickness by adding more protein powder, ice, or milk as needed.
  6. Pour into cups and serve immediately with a straw.

Notes

Frozen bananas are essential for a thick, creamy texture similar to a milkshake. If using fresh bananas, add ice. For nut allergies, substitute peanut butter with sunflower seed butter. Best served fresh; if storing, keep in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 24 hours and shake well before drinking.
